Wednesday, before Junior Olympics, I injured my left (back) foot at practice. We left for Dallas the next day so there was no time to visit a doctor prior to the tournament. I thought I had just strained some muscles in my foot and kept ice on it and fenced primarily on my front leg throughout the tournament. However, it did get worse. I went to my orthopedist who thought it could be one of several things...none of which were a strained muscle. I had an MRI done of my foot...FYI, they are not accommodating to people with large feet...just saying. It looks like there might be damage to a capsule or two in my foot. I am wearing a boot, taking meds, and will start physical therapy on March 2. The boot is a pain. My pants don't fit over it and the school is not very happy. They did say I can wear sweat pants, which are against dress code, but better than shorts. Fortunately I have plenty of time to rest up and get well. I will be happy to be fencing again.

In the beginning...
These are the voyages of a fencing kid from Texas... His (?) year mission, to hit people in the foot, to hold a french grip at the very end, to boldly go where, you know, several people have gone before, but it's new to me, right?
HI! This is my blog.
